18DT

18DT was designed by Robert Jasiek. It was an abstract game. He later developed it into "Crisis".

It was intended to make the most of the "chaotic" effects that can happen in 18xx games, with a small decision able to have great, and largely unpredictable, effects. I considered that it succeeded, and that the version offered here was an excellent game.

Some players criticised aspects of 18DT, particularly the scope it gave for collusion. Robert accepted the criticism, and responded by changing the rules in a way that made it arbitrary, complicated, and in my opinion unplayable.

The opinions expressed in the above two paragraphs are my own, and are a minority view. As far as I am aware, they are not all shared by any other person.

What is offered for sale here does not include a board, as this is an abstract game and has no board. The tiles, which are square, are laid on an initially empty 6×6 grid. Included are:
